Kate and I tackle New Hampshire's hardest hike, plus some - a 41 mile backpacking loop in the Pemigewasset wilderness, covering 12,000 feet of elevation gain and topping 12 peaks on the New Hampshire 48 over 4000 list.

Bouldering as a sport took off at Hueco Tanks outside of El Paso, TX. The setting is so unique and the movement is so fun here, in addition to thousands of years of history literally painted into the rock!

A 5 day camping trip to the Garden Island, backpacking the Napali Coast to Kalalau beach and enjoying the idyllic jungled mountains and beaches by boat and foot.

Visiting Kate on the Big Island for 2 weeks, with visits far and wide to volcanoes, beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, and caves for hiking, swimming, night snorkeling, sunrises, sunsets, stargazing, and more.

A spontaneous trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, Guanella Pass, and Denver for bouldering with the Houston gym crew and some wonderful fall hiking in the mountains and aspens.

Summer 2024 European trip part 1! With flight chaos, I land in Venice solo and explore for the day before Kate arrives. We enjoy a magical Venetian evening and then move on to bigger and better things...

A weekend getaway for mountaineering practice in beautiful Northern California. I went with Josh and his friend Andrew from JPL, and we skied (or walked in my case) the volcano.

During a two-week work trip to Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH, I had the chance to explore the city's impressive metropark system, Cuyahoga Valley NP, several Natl. Historical Sites, Ships and Subs, Niagara Falls, and Frank Lloyd Wright houses. I never expected to enjoy Lake Erie this much!

While I usually climb up and over rocks in Austin, I'm never one to turn down wriggling down and through tiny passages in rocks underground!

Repeated visits to enjoy the natural and cultural capital of the world Texas. ATX has all the things I find Houston lacking in...all the more reason to get out of the house.

After attending camp Hiawatha as a camper in 2012-13, I couldn't tear myself away. I returned and worked waterfront staff every summer until 2017. This camp is probably still the most special place in the world to me.
