As a long-time photo-taker, I only recently started to wonder if I could become a short-time-better-photo-taker. Having friends with cameras is somewhat of a gateway drug into another expensive hobby, so who could resist? I bought a DSLR (Canon Rebel T5i) in fall 2020 and began playing around with it. After a while, I wanted less weight to haul on hikes and climbs, so I went to a mirrorless Canon M50, then a Canon M6 mark ii. This page is primarily a photo sharing space for me, and hopefully you'll see my amateur work continue to improve over time.
I also prioritize adventure and new experiences, and thought it would be fun to share these as more than a facebook photo dump. Constructing a narrative that flows with the pictures and actually relives the trip doesn't work well on most social media sites, and something about doing it for the likes feels off to me anyways. Obviously, the only solution is to make my own website and do it for clicks and views instead...
There will probably be a little bit of everything here. Hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, climbing, snowboarding, boating, exploring, plants, wildlife, astronomy, you name it. Enjoy!
